Novella is turning a $100 billion market on its head. Excess and surplus insurance (E&S) are the most complex insurance policies, protecting some of the largest assets in the world. Historically, E&S has been sold by people - manually emailing, calling and sometimes even faxing forms to each other. The complexity of these products required a human to find and design the right coverage package for each individual asset.
Until now. We believe AI will totally change how E&S products are designed and sold. We’re building Novella to be the E&S distributor of the future, one that uses AI for everything and wants to look more like an exchange than a traditional insurance brokerage.
Insurance brokers are our customers and we wake up every day thinking about how we can make their lives easier. Their customers rely on us to find the best coverage for them; we don’t deliver a quote before we’re confident it’s right for the customer. We love insurance but we’re equally excited about reinventing a hundred-year-old function using the newest technologies in the world.
We’re a small team split between NYC and Israel. We’re backed by top tier VCs as well as industry leading angel investors who are excited to help us build an incredible company.
We are working near Sarona, Tel Aviv, spending at least 3 days a week in the office.
We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team. In your day-to-day work, you'll be responsible for building all aspects of our product, from discussing big ideas to debugging production issues. As one of our first 10 hires, you'll also help establish a strong engineering culture and take on a leadership role as the company grows.
